Jonathan Demme Records "Final" Neil Young Film
The third part of director\'s Young trilogy is in the can
Demme filmed Young's penultimate show on his Le Noise tour at Massey Hall in Toronto last night and he'll be filming the last one at the same venue tonight. Both shows will be used as part of the final part in Demme's trilogy of live films about the legendary songwriter.
The Silence Of The Lambs director first worked with Young on the multi-award winning Heart Of Gold film in 2006 before following that up with the critically acclaimed Trunk Show film in 2009 - both films showing a different side of Young's musical output.
The film is expected to be released later this year, although there's no word on when at the moment.
The Le Noise tour has seen Young playing a largely electric but solo set each night, drawing heavily on last year's excellent solo album of the same name.
Last night's set light in Toronto (and a good indicator of what will be featured in the film unless Young radically mixes things up tonight) was:
