Jon Lord to be honoured with blue plaque?
Campaign underway to have a blue plaque placed at the childhood home of the late Jon Lord.
The Deep Purple keyboardist grew up in Leicester at 120 Averill Road and lived there until he was twenty. The move is being supported by the City’s Mayor Sir Peter Soulsby. He said a plaque from the Heritage Foundation at the property was an "excellent idea” and would be "an important reminder of the city’s contribution to the world of contemporary music”.
Classic Rock magazine is also publicly supporting the campaign.
