Jon Bon Jovi Donates $1m To Hurricane Sandy Relief
The star has dug deep to help victims of the superstorm.
During a visit to his hometown of Sayreville, New Jersey on Monday, Jon Bon Jovi surprised local residents by presenting a cheque for one million dollars.
The singer was introduced by Mayor Kennedy O'Brien in front of the borough hall, before pulling the cheque out of his pocket.
He spoke briefly to the locals in attendance, saying: "I know $1 million sounds like a lot, but it's really just a drop in the bucket. And I know that there are people that are still suffering."
The money will be used to repair flood damage and aid victims of the category 3 hurricane that devastated much of the east coast of the United States in October 2012.
"I know $1 million sounds like a lot, but it's really just a drop in the bucket," Bon Jovi said. "And I know that there are people that are still suffering. "
