Dave Grohl and co. were performing a cover of ‘You’re The One That I Want’ from 1978 movie Grease at the Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, New York on Saturday night (14th July) when Travolta sauntered on stage.

Unlike his previous appearance with the Foos in Jacksonville, Florida in April where he merely waved at the crowd, Travolta actually busted some of his trademark moves from the musical romantic comedy in New York.

Check out footage of the appearance here:

John Travolta wasn’t the only guest star on the night. The Foos were also joined by Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith for a cover of The Faces’ ‘Stay With Me’, with Chad replacing Taylor Hawkins on drums.

Foo Fighters performed a trio of English shows last month at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium and London Stadium last month. You can read our review of their triumphant opening show in Manchester right here.

Speaking to issue 8 of Planet Rock Magazine, Download Festival booker Andy Copping said that Foo Fighters were still on his wishlist for the Donington Park extravaganza.

Asked if there’s a dream booking he’s kept chasing but hasn’t managed to secure yet, Copping replied: “There’s a few actually: Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Van Halen… we’ve been unbelievably close on all those acts. In fact, Pearl Jam and Van Halen have both confirmed previously, but had to pull out for different reasons.

“And with Foo Fighters, we thought we had them and then Dave (Grohl) broke his leg (from falling off the stage at Gothenburg’s Ullevi Stadium in June 2015).”

The North American leg of Foo Fighters’ Concrete and Gold Tour continues at New York’s world-famous Madison Square Garden tonight (16th July).
