Mellencamp and King’s musical collaboration has been in the works for more than a decade, according to Rolling Stone. The production is set in the South, and revolves around the 1957 deaths of two brothers and a young girl. In an interview with the Chicago Tribune last year, Mellencamp called the music "the Sgt. Pepper of Americana."

Mellencamp tours in the UK in support of last year's excellent No Better Than This album, Mellencamp will play shows in London and Manchester in July.

1 July - Manchester Apollo
2 July - London HMV Hammersmith Apollo

The tour will feature both classic material as well as new music from No Better Than This. This tour is designed as a uniquely formatted "evening with," and brings Mellencamp's music to theatre-sized venues, a rare opportunity to experience one of America's most iconic songwriters and performers in an intimate setting.
