John 5 says a new Mötley Crüe song with an ‘old Aerosmith’ vibe is imminent

Mötley Crüe guitarist John 5 says a new song is coming “very, very soon”.

During an appearance on SiriusXM's ‘Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk’, the guitarist was asked about a follow-up to last single ‘Dogs Of War’.

He said: “Yeah, actually, that's gonna be coming very soon. Actually, coming very, very soon. There's gonna be some announcements coming up very soon, and I can't really spill the beans now, but it is coming, baby. It is coming."

John 5 had previously revealed that the band had recorded a cover of ‘(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party!)’ by the Beastie Boys.

Asked if the upcoming release would be another original song, he said: "Yes. Yeah. And it's so cool. It reminds me of… It's just like a little old Aerosmith.

“I don't know. It's just that Mötley cool riff. And Nikki (Sixx, Mötley Crüe bassist and main songwriter) is just amazing with that melody and all that stuff. He's just incredible with those lyrics and melodies.

“So I'm really excited for the song to come out. I think people are going to super, super dig it."

John 5 replaced original guitarist Mick Mars as a touring musician in 2022, before the band announced his addition as a permanent member in April 2023.

Asked if he had any input on the band’s live set, he replied: “Oh my god, yeah. I do that all the time. And it's cool.

“We're doing 'On With The Show' now, and I love 'On With The Show'. It's so cool. But, yeah, I'm saying things all the time, like, 'Ten Seconds To Love' or 'Bas----' or anything like that, man. It's so important to me. I love those songs. I love all those songs, all the records."
