Drummer Joey Kramer returned to the stage with Aerosmith at the Park Theater at Park MGM in Las Vegas last night (10th February) just weeks after taking legal action against the band.

Late last month, Kramer, Aerosmith’s drummer of 50 years, sued his band mates for excluding him from returning for to the band for their performances at the MusiCares Person of the Year award on Friday 24th January and the Grammys main event two days later.
Kramer, who had been out of action due to a shoulder injury in 2019, claimed he was asked to audition for his “own job” and said the legal action was about being “deprived of the opportunity to be recognized along with my peers, for our collective, lifetime contributions to the music industry.”
Aerosmith refuted these claims saying they had asked him to re-join on numerous occasions, but he hasn’t been “emotionally and physically able to perform with the band.”
Things turned even sourer when a video emerged of Joey Kramer being refused access to Aerosmith’s band rehearsals for the Grammys.
Kramer’s lawsuit was thrown out by a judge and he eventually appeared at the Grammys with Aerosmith – however, he didn’t perform with them.
Last night at Aerosmith’s sixth Deuces Are Wild residency show of 2020 in Las Vegas, Joey Kramer finally returned to the stage with his band mates. Drum tech John Douglas had been filling in while Kramer was side-lined.
As fan-filmed footage below shows, as Aerosmith take to the stage frontman Steven Tyler introduces his band mate, saying “On the drums Mr Joey Kramer!”
To huge cheers, Kramer takes to his drum kit and the band launch into their 1985 single ‘Let the Music Do the Talking.’
