Joe Elliott To Work On Thin Lizzy Remasters
Scott Gorham enlists the help of Def Lep frontman for new remasters
Def Leppard frontman – and current Planet Rock presenter - Joe Elliott could well be working with Scott Gorham (another sometime Planet Rock presenter) and Thin Lizzy on a very special project in the near future.
In an interview with Guitarist Magazine Scott revealed that Thin Lizzy are working on some expanded remasters of some of their classic albums at the moment, and that as part of the bonus features on the album they are contemplating remixing some of the tracks.
"I've been talking to the guys (executives) at Universal (about a) deluxe album where you get the original (album) remastered and the second disc will either be the whole album remixed or tracks cherry-picked off for that treatment.
"I'm actually talking to Joe Elliott about going into his studio and doing it there in Dublin. We've been talking about that for a few years and now Universal is on board; it's now a matter of finalizing all the costs to do it.
"We want to get in this year and start the remixes. We want to get onto it as soon as possible... You keep Phil and keep his bass parts but see what we could do now, see what the songs turn out like now."
