Joe Bonamassa announces A Salute To The British Blues Explosion concerts - TICKETS
Joe Bonamassa is set to pay homage to the music of Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page.
In a one-time only UK event, "Joe Bonamassa In Concert: A Salute To The British Blues Explosion" will see the guitarist perform five special live shows in tribute to the British blues-rock guitarists at the heart of his musical inspiration.
“If it wasn't for certain British musicians of the early 1960s, the Blues may well never have exploded into Rock music as we know it today, and indeed may have passed into history,” says Bonamassa.
Venues for the concerts include two heritage castles in Hoghton and Newark, as well as the Old Royal Naval College in London, Glasgow's Clyde Auditorium and Bristol's Colston Hall.
The dates are as follows:
JULY 2016
2nd - Hoghton Tower
3rd - Glasgow Clyde Auditorium
5th - Bristol Colston Hall
7th - London Old Royal Naval College
8th - Newark Castle, Riverside Park
Tickets are available NOW in an exclusive Planet Rock Pre-sale via Planet Rock Tickets, up to 72 hours before general release on Friday 29th January.
The concerts will follow Joe Bonamassa's three previously announced UK dates in March, as well as the release of his brand new studio album "Blues of Desperation" on 25th March.
Like 2014's "Different Shades of Blue", the album will feature all-original material. "I want people to hear my evolution as a blues-rock musician," says Bonamassa, "somebody who isn't resting on accomplishments and who is always pushing forward and thinking about how music can evolve and stay relevant."
