Watch: Jason Momoa dives into the Metallica pit for ‘Whiplash’

Celebrities including John Travolta, Jason Momoa and Motley Crue’s Tommy Lee were all in attendance at Metallica’s Los Angeles shows with Pantera.

Travolta hung out with Pantera backstage but it was Momoa who really proved his metal credentials.

In footage doing the rounds online the Aquaman star can be seen gleefully shouting, “These f---ers opened with ‘Whiplash’!” before dashing into the circle pit.

Other footage also showed him getting down to openers Pantera.

Momoa later shared pics of himself getting to meet Metallica and thanked them for helping him try to bring his close friend Travis Snyder, who has leukemia, to the show.

While he wasn't able to make it there in person, he watched via Momoa's phone and seemingly met members of Metallica and Pantera over video call.

Pantera posted a snap of Momoa, Travolta and Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee backstage and drummer Charlie Benante posted a number of selfies.

He wrote: “Last night was a Blast! Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that I’d play SoFi Stadium.

“But it gets better. Talking to @johntravolta about folding 2 slices of pizza together while walking and eating was hilarious. If you’ve seen the opening of #saturdaynightfever you’ll understand.”

He added “Seeing Jason @prideofgypsies in the pit tearing it up was a highlight for me , made me work harder for sure- I 🖤him.”
