Jack White Planning Solo Album

As if he wasn\'t busy enough, the multi-banded guitarist is planning a solo record

The busiest man in rock, Jack White, is planning to add another string to his bow at some point this year with a solo album on the horizon.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, White revealed that during 2010 he has no fixed plans but a solo album is on his list of possibilities. Asked about the possibility that he will play all of the instruments himself, he said:

"I've never done that played everything himself. I thought about that. That might be the challenge - to differentiate from anything else that I've done."

White also revealed that he may well be working on new material for all of his other bands (White Stripes, Raconteurs, Dead Weather) this year as well.

"It would be a mistake for me to premeditate anything, even in the next six months, to say what I'm going to do," White explained. "I honestly could be working on a White Stripes album in the next two weeks. I have no idea if that is going to happen. And the same with The Dead Weather. I'd rather live like this without a calendar in front of me."

Meanwhile, White’s film It Might Get Loud is released at the cinema this week, with a DVD/Blu Ray release scheduled for 18 January. You can win yourself a copy of the DVD on Planet Rock at the moment at www.planetrock.com/itmightgetloud
