Tenacious D star and actor Jack Black has premiered an original rock song called ‘I Feel Alive,’ featuring Foo FightersDave Grohl and more.

Jack Black co-wrote alongside Mark Ronson and super producer Andrew Watt (The Rolling Stones, Pearl Jam, Ozzy Osbourne, Lady Gaga) for the film A Minecraft Movie, which hits cinemas next month.

Black stars as Steve in the movie adaptation of the Minecraft video game with Jason Momoa (The Garbage Man), Emma Myers (Natalie), Sebastian Hansen (Henry), Danielle Brooks (Dawn), and Jennifer Coolidge (Vice Principal Marlene).

‘I Feel Alive’ sees Jack Black take on lead vocals, and it also boasts Dave Grohl on drums and cowbell, Mark Ronson on bass and rhythm guitar, and Queens of the Stone Age’s Troy Van Leeuwen on lead guitar.

Listen to Jack Black’s ‘I Feel Alive’:

Dave Grohl played drums on the majority of Tenacious D’s self-titled 2001 debut album, and he also starred as the Demon in the iconic ‘Tribute’ music video.

A synopsis for A Minecraft Movie reads: ‘Four misfits – Garrett ‘The Garbage Man’ Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Myers) and Dawn (Brooks) – find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination.

‘To get back home, they’ll have to master this world (and protect it from evil things like Piglins and Zombies, too) while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve (Black).

‘Together, their adventure will challenge all five to be bold and to reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative… the very skills they need to thrive back in the real world.’
