Comedy icon and Tenacious D rocker Jack Black joined Foo Fighters on stage in New Zealand on Saturday night (20th January) for a performance of AC/DC’s ‘Big Balls.’

Foo Fighters previously covered the Bon Scott-era AC/DC track ‘Big Balls’ on their five-date Australian stadium tour in November and December with their Aussie drum tech Fiona on lead vocals.

The Foos once again performed the track at the 47,000-capacity Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland over the weekend with Jack Black taking on the choruses alongside Fiona belting out the verses.

Watch Jack Black sing AC/DC’s ‘Big Balls’ with Foo Fighters:

Jack Black is currently in New Zealand filming the movie Minecraft, which is based on video game of the same name.

The actor and musician has guested with Foo Fighters a number of times over the years including a cover of Led Zeppelin’s ‘Immigrant Song’ in California in 2015, a version of Rush’s ‘Tom Sawyer’ in Los Angeles later that year, and a cover of AC/DC’s ‘Back in Black’ in 2003.

Good friends with Jack Black and Kyle Gass, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl played guitar and drums on the duo’s self-titled debut album in 2001, and he also starred as Satan in the Tenacious D movie and the ‘Tribute’ music video.

In August 2022, Dave Grohl made a brief cameo at a charity concert in Los Angeles to perform a cover of the easy listening anthem ‘Summer Breeze’ with Tenacious D.

Foo Fighters play two more dates in New Zealand this week at Christchurch Apollo Projects Stadium and Wellington Sky Stadium.

The sextet grace the UK in June for completely seven sold out stadium shows in Manchester, Glasgow, London, Cardiff and Birmingham.
