Iron Maiden unleash pyro-tastic 'Flight of Icarus' live video
Iron Maiden have premiered a ‘Flight of Icarus’ live video filmed on the European leg of their Legacy Of The Beast World Tour last year.
Lifted from their seminal 1983 album ‘Piece of Mind’, ‘Flight of Icarus’ got its first live outing in 32 years when the Legacy of the Beast Tour kicked off in Tallinn, Estonia last May.
One of the many dizzying zeniths of their set, the fiery ‘Flight of Icarus’ performance saw Bruce Dickinson blast his flamethrower from his sleeves with casual abandon while Maiden were flanked by a gigantic winged Icarus at the back of the stage.
Filmed on the European trek, Iron Maiden have premiered a video today capturing the awesome spectacle in all its live glory. Feast your eyes and ears on it here:
Iron Maiden will kick off the US & Canada leg of The Legacy of the Beast Tour at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida on Friday 18th July and wrap up at San Antonio AT&T Center in late September.
They then tour Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Chile in September and October, culminating with a massive sold-out show at Estadio Nacional in Santiago where their 2012 ‘En Vivo!’ album and concert film was filmed in 2011.
Planet Rock recently compiled 16 rarely and never performed Iron Maiden songs we’d love to witness live.
Including classics like ‘Alexander The Great’, ‘Judas Be My Guide’, ‘Caught Somewhere In Time’, ‘Sea of Madness’ and ‘Back In The Village’, you can see the full list right here.
