Iron Maiden reveal full details of Record Store Day release
Record Store Day 2016 will see Iron Maiden release "Empire Of The Clouds" as a limited edition 12” picture disc single.
The record will be housed in an incredible looking package with artwork featuring a replica of the actual Daily Mirror newspaper story reporting on the fate of the R101 airship, from which the band took inspiration when writing the song.
The epic 18 minute track was originally released on the band's latest album "The Book of Souls". The Record Store Day single version will feature "Maiden Voyage" on the B Side - the story behind Empire Of The Clouds. This exclusive audio of Bruce Dickinson and Nicko McBrain talking in depth about the song and its history, was recorded, produced and mixed by Planet Rock’s very own Paul Anthony.
The "Empire Of The Clouds" 12" picture disc will be exclusively available in stores on Record Store Day 2016, which takes place this Saturday (16th April). You can find your nearest stockist at recordstoreday.co.uk!
