Iron Maiden exhibition confirmed for Bloodstock 2022

An exhibition of Iron Maiden artwork and photos will go on display at Bloodstock this coming August.

Curated by festival founder and globally renowned fantasy artist Paul Raymond Gregory, The RAM Gallery will once again host a plethora of rock and metal inspired art in a purpose built and professionally lit marquee.

This year the gallery will have a special Iron Maiden theme with illustrator Mark Wilkinson returning to display an array of his iconic artwork he made for the band.

Wilkinson has created many Iron Maiden single and album covers for 'Live at Donington', 'The Wicker Man', ‘Best of the B Sides’, ‘The Book of Souls’ and ‘Senjutsu.’

Iron Maiden’s official photographer John McMurtrie will also be displaying a wall of his spectacular imagery at The RAM Gallery.

“When it comes to doing something well I cannot think of any other band that is as driven to outdo itself than Iron Maiden,” says John McMurtie.

“I have been the band’s photographer since 2006 and each tour just gets bigger and more ambitious! The current Legacy of the Beast tour celebrates the music and showmanship of Iron Maiden with three full stage set changes representing was, religion and death.

“What other band on the planet would have a full-size Spitfire dive bombing on stage, a cathedral with stained glass windows, then a scene from hell with a 25ft monster surrounded by flames?

“I have a lot to photograph each night but it is the best gig in music photography and I feel honoured to play my part in capturing the Iron Maiden legacy.”

Bloodstockers will be able to buy prints at the festival.

Alongside the Iron Maiden exhibition, there will also be a display dedicated to Rodney Matthews artwork including sleeves for Rick Wakeman, Asia and Nazareth.

Pieces by Venom artist Eliran Kantor, Krusher and 3D artist Liam Brandon Murray will be on display together with photos from official Bloodstock photographers Katja Ogrin and Steve Dempsey.

Headlined by Behemoth, Lamb of God and Mercyful Fate, Bloodstock also features peformances from Killing Joke, Dimmu Borgir, Testament, Exodus, Avatar, GWAR and many more.

It’s also been confirmed that Venom Inc. will replace Black Dahlia Murder at the festival following the sad death of frontman Trevor Strnad.
