Iron Maiden Are Number 1
Final Frontier boldly goes where only three other Maiden albums have gone before
Iron Maiden bagged their fourth number 1 album yesterday with The Final Frontier.
The record is their fifteenth studio album and their first since 2006’s A Matter Of Life & Death. It is their first number one album in the UK since 1992’s Fear Of The Dark.
Judging by the various chart information that’s starting to be announced it looks likely that Final Frontier could become the band’s most successful album for more than two decades. A top ten place in the US album charts is pretty much assured after they were placed at number four in midweek charts.
It’s hoped that the metal veterans, who headlined the Sonisphere Festival earlier this month, will return to the UK next year for more dates. Nothing has been confirmed as yet.
