Iommi: Dio Tribute Is A One-off
Band\'s High Voltage set will be their final farewell
Tony Iommi has spoken about Heaven & Hell’s forthcoming Ronnie James Dio tribute concert at the High Voltage Festival, revealing that it will be a one-off show.
In an interview with Classic Rock Magazine Tony revealed that there wouldn’t be other concerts taking place around the world, and that the band’s performance in a couple of weeks time with Glenn Hughes and Jorn Lande taking over vocal duties would be a final farewell to their late bandmate.
"We thought it would be nice to do a final thing for Ronnie,’ says guitarist Iommi. ‘To be honest, we didn’t expect to be playing again. It’s certainly going to be a strange feeling.”
"This is going to be the only one. It would have been good, I suppose, for other people to have seen it, but this is something that we needed to do for ourselves as well.”
Heaven & Hell: A Tribute To Ronnie James Dio will play at the High Voltage Festival on Saturday 24 July at Victoria Park in London.
There are still a few tickets remaining for the concert, and you can get your hands on them at the link below.
