Inglorious say 'heavier' third album is done and reveal release date
Inglorious have confirmed their third studio album is finished and currently in the mixing stages.
Speaking to Planet Rock’s Paul Anthony backstage after opening the Main Stage at Download Festival, singer Nathan James said the follow-up to 2017’s ‘Inglorious II’ is “done.”
He told us: “(Producer) Kevin Shirley has just emailed me to say he’s mixed the next (song) so we’re four songs down. He’s not messing about, he never messes about Kev which is why we love him. Yeah it’s done it’s different.”
Bassist Colin Parkinson added: “Yeah it’s heavier, I think it’s more mature sounding.”
Nathan continued: “It’s heavier but it’s also got some of the lightest stuff we’ve ever done. We’ve got a fully acoustic song on there, a ballad.
“There’s stuff I’ve written about that I’ve never written about before. I lost one of my best friends this year and in time for me to write a song about her on this album, so that’s on there. Just all sorts of things, lots of relationships in my life have come to an end so for better or for worse I’ve written about those.
“It’s very personal for me and yeah we wanted it to be a bit heavier, that seems to be the stuff that people love. All these festivals that we’re doing people as soon as we start playing ‘High Flying Gypsy’ or something the crowd go mental.”
Pushed for a release date, Nathan said it will land in February 2019, however he wouldn’t reveal the title, saying: “I can’t tell you that but I can tell you it’s not going to be called (Inglorious) III’. It’s gonna actually have a name.”
