It will follow Ann and Nancy Wilson's rise to fame

Ann Wilson has revealed that a Heart movie biopic is in the pipeline.
The as-yet-untitled film is being written and directed by Carrie Brownstein, who is one-half of indie-rock duo Sleater-Kinney and also an actor who co-starred in the US TV series Portlandia.
Speaking to Lyndsey Parker on SiriusXM’s Volume West show, Ann Wilson said the film will be produced by Amazon and it’s currently in its embryonic stages.
“I saw the first draft of the script,” Ann explained. “It’s really cool. (Carrie Brownstein is) working with the movie company Amazon and with the producer, Linda Obst, who did Sleepless in Seattle.”
The movie will follow Ann and Nancy Wilson’s meteoric rise to fame in the late 1970s when they became one of biggest rock bands on the planet.
Asked if any decisions have been made about who is playing herself and Nancy, Ann said: “I just don’t have any idea. I’m too close to it. I’m just as excited about finding out as you are.”
Ann said Anne Hathaway had expressed some interest in the movie, however she conceded: “I don’t think she’s exactly right for it.”
Commenting on whether the cast will be required to sing the Heart back catalogue, Ann said: “That’s still in development right now. Because of Covid, it slowed everything down. But it’s definitely coming along.”
Seemingly buoyed by the success of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, Motley Crue’s The Dirt and Elton John’s Rocketman, there have already been a series of movie biopics announced over the past year including films about Motörhead’s Lemmy, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, and KISS.
The David Bowie origins story Starman, however, which doesn't feature any of Bowie's music and was condemned by the late legend's family, was savaged by critics upon release earlier this month.
Ann Wilson was scheduled to perform her first ever solo shows in the UK this summer in Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham, however the gigs were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Last week Nancy Wilson announced that her debut solo album ‘You and Me’ will be released in early 2021 and it features guest slots from Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar, Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.
