Halestorm's Lzzy Hale wants Iron Maiden-style plane 'Hale Force One'

Lzzy Hale has revealed that one of her career ambitions is to have an Iron Maiden-style plane called ‘Hale Force One.’

Ahead of Halestorm’s rip-roaring performance on the Apex Stage at Download Festival on Thursday, Lzzy Hale and Joe Hottinger spoke to Planet Rock’s Wyatt backstage.

During the chat, Joe and Izzy told Wyatt that playing Wembley Arena this coming December is a huge moment in Halestorm’s career.

When asked if they have any other ambitions, Joe quipped: “We haven’t played in space yet!”

Lzzy added: “First rock band on the moon, let’s go! You never run out of dreams you’ve just got to keep stacking them high. I still want to have Hale Force One (like Iron Maiden’s Ed Force One), the plane thing. A plane tour.”

Elsewhere during the chat with Wyatt, Lzzy said that Download Festival over the past 13 years has helped Halestorm evolve as a band.

“I know we’ve grown up on this festival – we’ve been coming here since 2010 – and we definitely cite this festival with helping so much with our growth here in the UK,” Lzzy explained. “I feel like it kind of raised us. Raised by Download!”

Asked about Lars Ulrich’s recent comments that Metallica want to carry on until they’re 70, Lzzy said she has no plans of ever calling it quits.

“I’m planning on (playing into my 70s),” Lzzy exclaimed. “I feel like the situation is going to be like, someone is going to have to have an intervention and be like ‘Lzzy, it’s not cute anymore.’”
