Guns N' Roses score highest grossing tour of the summer raking in £88million
Testament to their enduring popularity, Guns N’ Roses raked in a phenomenal $116.8million (£88million) on their North American tour this summer.
With Axl reuniting with Slash and Duff McKagan, the trio of ‘classic’ Guns N’ Roses members played a total of 21 stadiums across nine weeks between 23rd June and 22nd August.
The shows were seen by a total of 1,048,617 people out of a capacity of 1,108,307 tickets.
According to figures obtained by Billboard, Guns N’ Roses easily scored the highest grossing tour of the summer Stateside earning more than three times the $33,632,390 total by second placed Bruce Springsteen.
With the Latin American, Japanese and Oceania legs still to go on the Not in This Lifetime... Tour, Guns N’ Rose's lucrative reunion will increase its revenue even further in the coming months.
There is still no news on any UK or European dates on the tour.
In other Guns N' Roses news, yesterday morning Izzy Stradlin took to Twitter to shut down Axl Rose’s suggestion that he was partially to blame for not joining the reunion.
Izzy wrote: "Bull****. They didn't want to split the loot equally. Simple as that. Moving right along..."
Ex-Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler Guns N’ Roses on stage at two US shows in July performed the tracks ‘My Michelle’ and ‘Out Ta Get Me’.
Axl Rose is currently in the midst of the North American leg of the Rock or Bust World Tour with AC/DC.
