GUN move part of UK tour to March 2022 after whole band gets Covid-19
They release their new album 'The Calton Songs' next year
GUN have moved the vast majority of their December 2021 UK tour dates to March 2022 after the whole band and their management contracted Covid-19 in recent months.
The Scottish rockers said that because of “severe illness and slow recovery for some of the team”, work on their new studio album ‘The Calton Songs’ has been delayed.
The release of ‘The Calton Songs’ has now been pushed back to March 2022 with their shows in Manchester, Hull, Newcastle, Wolverhampton, Brighton, Dover, Bath, Milton Keynes, Stoke, Bradford, London and Buckley all now happening next spring too.
GUN will still play a clutch of shows in November including Planet Rockstock, plus their headline shows in Glasgow and Aberdeen in December.
The band said in a statement: ‘Between July and September 2021, ALL GUN band members and management contracted COVID-19 and were forced to halt work on the December album release completely – which has had a huge impact on the campaign plans.’
GUN frontman Dante Gizzi said: “We can only apologise to the world's finest fans for moving these gigs, but we would like to play the new album while on tour. We're all excited to see everyone over the next few months.
“It’s been a very difficult and indeed scary time for us, with some of the team becoming seriously ill and still not being fully recovered even now. Stay safe everyone and we will see you very soon. And now we can PROMISE you Better Days ahead!”
GUN will release their new single, a semi-acoustic rendition of their debut single ‘Better Days’, on Friday 10th December via Cherry Red Records ahead of their new album next year.
Dante Gizzi adds: “Along with everyone else we’re excited to put the past year behind us and play to the finest fans in the world this November and December, and go again next March. We’ve got a new album ready to go and we’re eager to play it for you guys. It’s been a very difficult and indeed scary time for us, but we can PROMISE you Better Days ahead!”
