Grohl Named Godlike Genius

Dave Grohl is to be named Godlike Genius at this year’s NME Awards.

The Foo Fighters man is to be honoured at the awards ceremony at the Brixton Academy on 23 February where the Foos will also make their UK live comeback.

"I don't think I'm godlike or a genius," he told NME.com. "It’s flattering. It's a nice thing to be acknowledged for doing something you love to do, but in truth I don’t consider it a body of work because I don’t consider it work."

The Foos play a handful of huge shows in the UK this summer, including headline gigs at Milton Keynes Bowl.

In other Foos News, the band have placed their cover of Gerry Rafferty’s Baker Street online in tribute to the late singer who died last week.
