Greta Van Fleet complete debut album and eye up 2018 release date
Fast-rising Frankenmuth rockers Greta Van Fleet have finished recording their debut studio album.
The quartet performed at the Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, Ohio on Friday (18th May) where they told Loudwire their debut full-length record is currently in the mixing stages.
Asked when they’re planning to release the album, guitarist Jake Kiszka said: “We’re in the mixing process, so it’s going to be quite soon. We’re wrapping it up, so we’re hoping to release that absolutely this year.”
His sibling and band mate Sam Kiszka added: “We had all these songs we wrote three to five years ago that we were just going to put on the album.
“It very quickly became all new material, so I’d say about three-quarters of the songs are songs we wrote in the studio. It just happened very quickly, we got everything done in two weeks. We were aching to make this album.”
The band have once again drafted in Al Sutton and Marlon Young to produce the album having previously recorded April 2017’s ‘Black Smoke Rising’ EP and last November’s double EP ‘From the Fires’ with them.
Greta Van Fleet perform on the Zippo Encore Stage at Download Festival on Sunday 10th June. The following day they play a sold-out show at the the 1,500 capacity London Electric Ballroom.
Day and weekend tickets to Download Festival are on sale from Planet Rock Tickets now.
