Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong Enters Rehab
The news follows an onstage meltdown in Las Vegas
Signs of some personal demons appeared on Friday night when Armstrong hit out at the organisers of the I Heart Radio Festival onstage in Las Vegas when he (mistakenly) believed he was told that his band only had one minute left of their set.
Footage of the incident emerged online (please note - there is a LOT of swearing therein).
On Sunday the band then revealed that Armstrong had entered rehab, saying on their website.
"Billie Joe is seeking treatment for substance abuse,” posted the band on Sunday. "We would like everyone to know that our set was not cut short by Clear Channel and to apologize to those we offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas. We regretfully must postpone some of our upcoming promotional appearances.”
