Green Day To Release New Live Album
Band reveal plans at show in Denver
Green Day look set to release a new live album in the near future which will feature previously unreleased tracks.
The band’s frontman Billie Joe Armstrong announced to a Denver audience that "We're recording a live f*cking album right now. So check it out, we're gonna play a brand-new song. ... It ain't that brand-new. This song is called 'Cigarettes and Valentines'."
The song ‘Cigarettes And Valentines’, which the band debuted at the Denver show, was originally the title track to an unreleased 2003 album that was due to be the follow up to 2000’s Warning. The recordings were stolen, however, and instead of trying to recreate the album the band started from scratch and ended up with 2004’s American Idiot, which has now sold upwards of 15m copies worldwide.
