Green Day to headline British Summer Time Hyde Park
Green Day have been unveiled as the first headliner of Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park next summer.
The pop-punk trio will top the bill at the world-famous London green on Saturday 1st July as part of British Summer Time Hyde Park’s fifth birthday celebrations.
“London in the summer, us and tens of thousands of fans having the biggest party in one of the world's most legendary venues," says Billie Joe Armstrong. "We have the best year to look forward to and this has just made it extra special.”
James King, Senior Vice President, AEG Live comments: “We're super excited to be announcing Green Day as our first headliner for 2017. So many hits and also some amazing new music as well. London is going to be treated to one of the best stadium bands of our generation on the Great Oak Stage in Hyde Park.”
The announcement comes weeks after Green Day sold out their trio of UK arena shows in a matter of minutes and days ahead of the release of album no.12 ‘Revolution Radio’ on Friday (7th October).
Tickets go on sale from Planet Rock Tickets at 9am on Friday 7th October.
Since its inception in 2013, British Summer Time Hyde Park has boasted performances from Bon Jovi, The Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, The Who and more.
