Glenn Hughes postpones May 2019 UK tour due to illness
Glenn Hughes has postponed his upcoming 'Performs Classic Deep Purple Live' May 2019 UK Tour due to an illness that needs immediate treatment.
The Voice of Rock will have an urgent but non life threatening operation imminently and he is expected to fully recover and fulfil his touring commitments from June onwards.
The eight-date trek was due to kick off at Holmfirth Picturedome on Tuesday 14th May and wrap up at Nottingham Rock City on Friday 24th May with support from Laurence Jones.
A statement issued on Glenn’s official website reads: “Glenn Hughes sends his regrets that he is unable to perform his UK tour which was due to start May 14th through May 24th.
“He needs to be treated for an illness that while not life threatening, must be dealt with immediately in order for it to not become a serious problem. He is expected to make a full recovery and be back on the road in June. Info to follow shortly on tickets.”
Glenn’s rapturously received October 2018 tour saw him perform timeless anthems like ‘Burn’, ‘Stormbringer’, ‘Highway Star’, ‘Smoke on the Water’ and ‘Mistreated’ from Deep Purple’s distinguished back catalogue.
