Glenn Hughes and Jason Bonham reveal California Breed
The band's debut album is expected in May.
Deep Purple and all-round rock mainstay Glenn Hughes has formed a new band with co-Black Country Communion man Jason Bonham and young up-and-coming guitarist Andrew Watt, who says "getting to play with these legends has given me wings. I don't really believe in luck. For me, luck is preparation meets opportunity. You rise to the occasion. That's what California Breed has been for me."
Hughes and Bonham released 3 albums as Black Country Communion between 2010 and 2012 with Joe Bonamassa. However, following the blues axeman’s acrimonious departure from the band last year, they have had to look to pastures new.
Recorded in Nashville last year with Rival Sons knob-twiddler Dave Cobb and Jack White collaborator Vance Powell, the new tunes are, according to Hughes, going to “shake up the music industry”.
The band’s debut is to be released in May and a full tour is expected very soon.
