Geoff Tate Demands Meeting With Former Band
He says that wants his former bandmates to explain themselves
Tate and his former band are a loggerheads over the use of the Queensryche name, and while his bandmates have for the moment gained legal control over the name there is likely to be a long running battle over whether they can use it without their frontman.
Now Tate has told DJ Eddie Trunk that he wants his former bandmates to explain what happened.
He said  "I’d like to sit in a room with those gentlemen and have them tell me face-to-face what the situation is. Explain their actions.
"I’d like to know and actually understand their point of view. I’d like to see them talk to me rather than through the internet.
"Communication is a big part of any relationship, right? If nobody’s talking then nothing’s getting settled. My door is open.”
A recent court ruling means that we could see two versions of Queensryche on the road, with neither party being given exclusive rights over the trademark.
Meanwhile, the new Tate-less version of Queensryche is working on a brand new album. They have started recording sessions and they expect the new album to be released in 2013. Tate has his own solo album in the can and should release it before the end of the year.
