Gene Simmons' wife shares photos after he undergoes kidney stones operation
Gene Simmons' wife Shannon Tweed Simmons has confirmed he underwent a kidney stones operation earlier this week.
The KISS bassist was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles on Tuesday (1st October) to undergo surgery to get rid of the painful stones.
Celebrity gossip site TMZ reports that the operation took an hour to complete and involved inserting a stent in Gene’s urethra to help him pass his stones.
Referring to TMZ’s report, Shannon Tweed Simmons shared a photo of the kidney stones during surgery and wrote “Well, now that the cats out of the bag.”
She added: “This is Gene's second of three procedures that will remove these large kidney stones so he can move on with Rockin' & Rollin! and, by the way, Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband @GeneSimmons."
Tweed also uploaded a photo of Gene sat in a hospital wheelchair seemingly waiting to leave hospital, and quipped: “Gene is stealing socks from the hospital.”
KISS postponed their concert in Salt Lake City last month so Gene could fly to Los Angeles and undergo a medical procedure. He told his Twitter followers: "Nothing serious. But it must be taken care of now."
