Speaking to Kerrang! Magazine ahead of Deadland Ritual’s debut UK shows next month, 69-year-old Geezer explained that after more than half-a-Century in the music business he still feels like he’s in his mid-twenties.

“It does (keep you young). It’s true,” Geezer said. “I mean, I’ve got the worst hair in the world, I’m trying my best to keep it, but the music does keep you young.

“I see people my age and they have the beige coats and white trousers on, but I still feel like I’m 25, it's weird. It is definitely down to the music.

“I still follow pop stuff too, listening out for new bands in the charts. It keeps you feeling young, even if you don’t look it.”

Asked elsewhere in the chat Geezer was asked what he thinks the meaning of life is. He replied: “That you’re here, you live your life and you die. When you’re gone, that’s it. I don’t think there is any meaning.

“I don’t believe in an afterlife anymore, though I used to. I’ve given up on religion because it’s far too divisive. That’s practically what all wars have come down to.

“Whether aliens came to earth and made everyone think there was a God, I don’t know! I think people totally miss the point of religion, which should be about getting on well with everybody.”

Featuring Geezer on bass, vocalist Franky Perez (Apocalyptica, Scars on Broadway), drummer Matt Sorum (Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver) and guitarist Steve Stevens (Billy Idol), Deadland Ritual play London O2 Academy Islington on Thursday 13th June and Glasgow Garage on Saturday 15th June.
