Gary Moore live album 'Live - From Baloise Session' announced
It was recorded in Basel, Switzerland
A new Gary Moore live album called ‘Live – From Baloise Session’ will be released on Friday 23rd May 2025 via Provogue.
The album was recorded at indoor music festival Baloise Session in Basel, Switzerland on 13th November 2008, two years and three months before Gary Moore’s untimely death aged 58.
Founded in 1985, Baloise Session boasts big name artists in an intimate club setting, and headline performers over the years include Eric Clapton, Toto, Mark Knopfler, Ray Charles, James Brown, Deep Purple, Iggy Pop, Elton John and Jethro Tull.
Flanked by Pete Rees on bass, Vic Martin on keys and fabled Thin Lizzy drummer Brian Downey, Gary Moore played a concise and powerful eight-song masterclass.
Tracks performed on the night included Moore’s seminal anthem ‘Still Got The Blues for You,’ Thin Lizzy’s ‘Don’t Believe a Word,’ Albert King’s ‘Oh, Pretty Woman,’ and Chuck Berry’s ‘Thirty Days (to Come Back Home).’
