Best known for portraying Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish in the HBO series Game of Thrones, Gillen will play Scottish music manager John Reid, who managed Queen from 1975 to 1978.

Gillen has also starred in shows including Queer as Folk and The Wire, and will appear in the fourth series of hit BBC crime drama Peaky Blinders.

As Vanity Fair reports, acclaimed English actor Tom Hollander (Pirates of the Caribbean, Rev., Pride & Prejudice) will play long-time Queen manager Jim Beach in the film.

Both actors join a cast that features Mr. Robot's Rami Malek (singer Freddie Mercury), Gwilym Lee (guitarist Brian May), Ben Hardy (drummer Roger Taylor) and Joseph Mazello (bassist John Deacon).

Wayne’s World star Mike Myers was reported to be negotiated a role the film earlier this month, however he has yet to be confirmed.

Queen’s Brian May unveiled the first photo of Rami Malek portraying Freddie Mercury on 6th September.

> And here for comparison is Freddie himself - right ? Wrong. This is Rami revving up for the performance of his life. The whole thing is truly breathtaking now the production is taking shape. It feels like a rocket taking off. Shooting begins Friday. Bri > > A post shared by Brian Harold May (@brianmayforreal) on Sep 5, 2017 at 6:29pm PDT

In the image, the 36-year-old American actor can be seen throwing an iconic Freddie pose in a recreation of Queen’s legendary performance at Live Aid at London’s Wembley Stadium on 13th July 1985.

Rami said of his transformation to EW.com: “When you’re able to open your eyes and see a different person staring back at you in the mirror, it’s a very affirming moment.”

Brian has been sharing a series on photos from the film shoot on Instagram, which you can check out below.

‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ is set for release in December 2018 and is being produced by 20th Century Fox.

> LOOK !!! LIVE AID LIVES AGAIN !! It's a Miracle ! IG'd by @bryanjaysinger for Bohemian Rhapsody the Movie !!! We are ON ! #queenwillrock #bohemianrhapsodythemovie #liveaid - Bri > > A post shared by Brian Harold May (@brianmayforreal) on Aug 29, 2017 at 5:38pm PDT

> Yes - we had Bob Geldoff as a guest this week at the Live Aid set. He enjoyed ! But it's all being torn down now. Soon it will be just an airfield again. Quite sad to see this beautiful recreation becoming part of history just like the original. But its legacy will hopefully be something wonderful - a new portrayal of the spirit of those moments in a way that could never be achieved from documentary footage. Bryan Singer's vision of Freddie and of us as Queen might just stun the world all over again. Bri > > A post shared by Brian Harold May (@brianmayforreal) on Sep 23, 2017 at 5:11pm PDT

> Well, seeing as the whole damn world has already tweeted this, I might as well do it too ! Yes it was a memorable moment watching Rami 'do' Freddie on stage in full transformative accoutrements for the first time. Not to mention Gwilym and the boys doing ME ! Glad I was around to see it. It's yet another experience I never dreamed I would have. #Grateful. #Excited ! Bri > > A post shared by Brian Harold May (@brianmayforreal) on Sep 23, 2017 at 5:17pm PDT
