Gabriel Rages At US DJ

The former Genesis man demands that his songs are removed from controversial political commentator's show

Gabriel demanded that his song 'Sledgehammer' was pulled from Rush Limbaugh's radio show after learning that it was used to soundtrack a tirade against a Georgetown law student named Sandra Fluke, who was denied the right to speak to a Congressional hearing about the Obama administration's contraception policy.

During his rant Limbaugh referred to Fluke as a "slut" and a "prostitute" before which he played a snippet of 'Sledgehammer'. After Peter Gabriel's fans alerted him to the radio show he then posted this to his Facebook site:

"Peter was appalled to learn that his music was linked to Rush Limbaugh's extraordinary attack on Sandra Flute sic. It is obvious from anyone that knows Peter's work that he would never approve such a use. He has asked his representatives to make sure his music is withdrawn and especially from these unfair aggressive and ignorant comments."
