Freddie Mercury boxset announced to mark his 70th birthday

Set for release on Friday 2nd September via Mercury/Universal Records, three days before Freddie’s birth date, ‘Messenger of the Gods: The Singles’ features all 13 of his solo singles pressed on individually coloured 7” vinyls.

The limited edition boxset costs £109.99 and comes with a lift off lid, an extensive booklet containing previously unpublished photos and download codes for high quality digital downloads.

The singles date from 1973’s ‘I Can Hear Music’ (released under Farrokh Bulsara’s short-lived name Larry Lurex) right up to the posthumous 1993 remix of ‘Living on My Own.’

Other tracks that feature include ‘Barcelona’, ‘The Great Pretender’, ‘Love Kills’ and ‘I Was Born to Love You’.

As well as the boxset, ‘Freddie Mercury: Messenger Of The Gods - The Singles’ will be available as a double CD album split into A-sides and B-sides.

Freddie’s 70th birthday will be marked with an official party at the Casino Barrière in Montreux, Switzerland on 4th September. Proceeds from the night will go to the Mercury Phoenix Trust which raises funds to help fight AIDs worldwide.
