Former Judas Priest Guitarist Thanks Fans

Downing unexpectedly quit Priest last year ahead of their headline performance at the High Voltage festival, and although his reasons were never made particularly clear, he suggested in an interview last year that it was a breakdown in his working relationships.

"It was a set of circumstances that led me to not go out on tour with Priest this year,” said Downing. "I was kind of geared up for it, but there was a multitude of reasons. It pretty much came down to an unsettlement on my part with working relationships.”
