The former Journey drummer has replaced the departing Brian Tichy who had three tenures with the group since their inception in 2012.

Enthusing about Castronovo joining the band, The Dead Daisies wrote: “We are thrilled to announce that Deen Castronovo is joining The Dead Daisies!

“He is here in Nashville with us where we are beginning the recording of the new album today.

“We’d like to thank Brian Tichy who has decided to pursue other projects next year. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

“We cannot wait for you guys to hear this new album we are working on! It will be a real bone-shaker!!”

Expressing his gratitude to his fellow Dead Daisies band mates, Castronovo said: “Thank you for welcoming me into this situation, it really is better than expected. Total gratitude, thank you very much guys.”

The current incarnation of The Dead Daisies consists of Castronovo alongside David Lowy (guitar), Marco Mendoza (bass), John Corabi (vocals) and Doug Aldrich (lead guitar).

Last week The Dead Daises premiered their debauched video for ‘She Always Gets Her Way (All The Same)’ exclusively on Planet Rock.

In keeping with the lyrical themes of the rocking track, the video sees singer John Corabi fall for a female fan at a gig where they imbibe copious amounts of drugs and alcohol.

Although enjoying the high life (in more ways than one) and eventually tying the knot, the couple’s relationship is toxic and fraught with arguments, culminating with John’s wife throwing his beloved guitar into the swimming pool of their swish pad.

Perfectly summing up lines like “I sometimes love and hate her/ Can't explain her/ No I can't tame that girl/ 'Cause I want her all the same", despite the damage to John’s prized instrument, the video ends with a kiss between the warring couple.
