Foreigner & Asia postpone UK tour due to 'reasons beyond their control'

Just four days after it was announced, Foreigner and Asia’s upcoming November tour has been postponed.

Although Foreigner and Live Nation initially stayed quiet on the postponement, a post on Asia’s social channels and their management company QEDG Management last night confirmed it.

The short statement read: "Unfortunately the Foreigner / Asia / John Wetton tribute November dates have been cancelled for reasons beyond our control. Refunds can be obtained from ticket offices, or can kept for rescheduled dates."

There is no official reason for the postponement yet and also no word on when the rescheduled dates will be.

Echoing the above post, a statement posted on Live Nation's site this morning read: "Due to circumstances beyond our control we are having to reschedule the Foreigner shows planned for November this year.  We will let you know as soon as the new dates have been finalised.  If you purchased tickets during pre-sale these will remain valid for the new dates, so please do hang on to them!"

The tour was due to take in shows at Wolverhampton Civic Hall, London Royal Albert Hall, Glasgow SEC Armadillo and Manchester O2 Apollo in the final week of November.

Fans have been buying presale tickets to the tour since Wednesday with general sale tickets due to go on sale at 9am this morning. When fans went to ticket sites this morning, they were immediately met with an event ‘currently not on sale’ message.

The four shows were part of Foreigner’s ongoing 40th anniversary celebrations across the globe.

Asia’s very special support slot was billed as a tribute to singer John Wetton who died from colon cancer in January. The line-up was due to feature Geoff Downes and Steve Howe, with Carl Palmer unable to join due to prior commitments.
