Foos Drummer Riding On The Coattails

Queen & Dave Grohl guest on Taylor\'s new album

Taylor Hawkins has enlisted members of Queen and his Foo Fighter colleague Dave Grohl for his side project’s brand new album.

Taylor Hawkins & The Coattail Riders have revealed that they have completed work on their brand new album, which is due to be released in the very near future.

Red Light Fever is slated for release on 19 April and includes guest appearances from Elliot Easton of the Cars, Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen, and last but by no means least, Hawkins' bandmate Dave Grohl.

The Coattail Riders are mad up of former Janes Addition bassist Chris Chaney along with Gannin Arnold (guitar) and, for the first time in the studio, touring Coattails guitarist Nate Wood. The album was recorded in the living room of touring percussionist Drew Hester and at the Foo’s 606 Studios.

"About halfway through, I just said f**k it, I don't care if the record ends up sounding like me having sex with my record collection. I'm just going to have fun with it," says Hawkins, who plays drums and sings on the album.

Red Light Fever follows the band’s 2006 self-titled debut. You can find out more about the album at www.taylorhawkins.com.
