Foo Fighters Premiere Star-Studded Trailer
'Sonic Highways' features Barack Obama, Paul Stanley, Billy Gibbons and more
Foo Fighters have premiered a three-and-a-half-minute, star-studded trailer for their upcoming HBO series ‘Sonic Highways’.
Documenting the making of their album of the same name, ‘Sonic Highways’ follows the band as they record the album in eight different cities - Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Seattle and Washington DC.
Dave Grohl explains in the clip: “I really believe that the environment in which you write or record an album influences the musical result.
“That's why, as the frontman explains, the group decided to record in different studios in different cities all over the country, where they worked with and met with a variety of guests.
“You can tie all of these people and places together with these sonic highways."
The preview features teasers of interviews with a smorgasbord of music legends including Slash, Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen, KISS’s Paul Stanley, Willie Nelsen, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, Joan Jett and Rick Rubin plus the President himself Barack Obama. Â
"This isn't just the making of our most ambitious album," Grohl adds. "This is a love letter to the history of American music."
The series airs Stateside on 17th October. The BBC has secured rights in the UK, however it’s currently unclear when it will air. Â
The album ‘Sonic Highways’ follows on Monday 10th November. The full track-listing is as follows:
