Foo Fighters abruptly axe stadium show three hours after it was announced

Foo Fighters have axed a US stadium show in Minneapolis just three hours after the concert was announced.
Dave Grohl and co. announced a huge summer 2022 North American stadium tour yesterday afternoon (30th November), which takes in 17 cities across May, July and August 2022.
However, just a few hours later Foo Fighters released a statement confirming the Minneapolis, Minnesota show at the 50,000 capacity Huntington Bank Stadium is no longer going ahead.
"Due to Huntington Bank Stadium's refusal to agree to the band's Covid safety measures, Foo Fighters are unable to perform at that venue," the band wrote.
"We apologise for any inconvenience and are working on finding a suitable replacement — one that will prioritize the health and safety of everyone working and attending the show."
A spokesperson for the University of Minnesota, where Huntington Bank Stadium is located, confirmed in a statement to the Star Tribune they were unwilling to change their existing protocols for just one event.
"The university declined to change its existing protocols for large events, which have been effective," they said. "We continue to encourage everyone to get vaccinated, wear a mask when in large crowds, and take appropriate steps to protect public and personal health."
The North American dates bracket Foo Fighters’ completely sold out English stadium shows in Manchester, Birmingham and London next summer.
