Foo Fighters' Chris Shiflett selling guitars from his personal collection
Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett is flogging 20 of his guitars including a number of ones used during his career.
The veritable smorgasbord of instruments will go up for sale on the online marketplace Reverb.com from tomorrow (Thursday 19th July).
In a video detailing the sale, Shiflett said: “I have an excess of guitars that I’ve gotten over the years - I have more than I could even really play and more than I do play. It would be fun to see these things find a home elsewhere, where somebody’s going to actually play them and put scratches on them. “I’m going to take these 20 guitars and turn them into two guitars. That’s kind of my plan.”
He also joked on Twitter: “I’m broke!!!! Gotta move some surplus gear!!! :)”

Among the notable guitars is a 2002 Gibson Firebird V Reissue that Shiflett played in the ‘All My Life’ video, the first Fender Chris Shiflett Signature Telecaster Deluxe Prototype, plus a Gretsch Brian Setzer Signature Black Phoenix that he’s performed regularly with on Foo Fighters tours.

Prior to his career with Foo Fighters, Shiflett was a member of San Jose based punk rockers No Use for a Name and he’s also been an ongoing member of punk covers band Me First and the Gimme Gimmes.
