Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett premieres new song 'Dead and Gone'

Chris Shiflett has premiered his new single ‘Dead and Gone’ and its accompanying music video.
The Foo Fighters guitarist wrote ‘Dead and Gone’ three years ago, and it’s a musical ode to his hometown and some of the friends and characters that have influenced him along the way.
Born in Santa Barbara, California, Chris Shiflett says: “My hometown was an odd mix of luxury paradise and working-class grit and continues to be a bottomless pit of lyrical inspiration.”
Just like previous single 'Black Top White Lines', the track sees Shiflett delve into country rock realms and it features dobro from Charlie Worsham and the tremolo guitar tones of Tom Bukovac.

Both ‘Dead and Gone’ and ‘Black Top White Lines’ are lifted from Chris Shiflett’s upcoming new studio album, which will be released via Snakefarm Records later this year.
The album was produced by The Cadillac Three’s Jaren Johnston, who also co-wrote ‘Black Top White Lines’ alongside Shiflett and Brothers Osborne’s John Osborne.
Commenting on working with Johnston, Shiflett said: “A big part of my inspiration to work with Jaren on this record was because I knew he’d push me out of my comfort zone into new territory.”
Last week, Foo Fighters announced their “emotionally raw” new album ‘But Here We Are’ and premiered the poignant lead single ‘Rescued.’
Foo Fighters also play their first headline shows since Taylor Hawkins’ death next month and they tour throughout the summer.
Earlier this week, Queen’s Roger Taylor addressed speculation that his son Rufus Taylor will drum for Foo Fighters.
