Foo Fighters announce support acts for 2019 UK and Ireland shows
Foo Fighters have announced the support acts for their forthcoming UK and Ireland shows this summer.
Ahead of their headline slots at Reading and Leeds Festival on the August Bank Holiday weekend, Dave Grohl and co. play gigs at Glasgow Summer Sessions, Belfast Boucher Road Playing Fields and Dublin RDS Arena.
Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes and Hot Milk will have the prestigious honour of playing all three shows. Glasgow Summer Sessions will also boast performances from Slaves and The Van T’s.
All three gigs are completely sold out but you can still get tickets to Leeds Festival right here and Reading festival by clicking here.
In other tenuously related Foo Fighters news, after coming to the rescue of Guns N’ Roses' Axl Rose in 2016, Dave Grohl has lent his iconic rock throne to another ailing musician.
Matthew Ramsey of country music band Old Dominion has been using Dave’s throne at recent shows in North America after he broke his leg.
“I’m sure Dave didn’t know that when he created this thing, everyone would want to use it,” Ramsey told People. “But, it has been an honour to sit on, and more importantly, it’s allowing us to keep the show on the road. Our fans are truly grateful. We owe him big for that.”
Dave Grohl helped design the fabled throne after he broke his leg on stage at Sweden’s Ullevi Stadium in summer 2015.
Foo Fighters have also paid tribute to late Prodigy frontman Keith Flint, who died earlier this week.
The Foos, who supported The Prodigy on their Fat of the Land Tour in 1997, wrote on Twitter: “RIP the incomparable Keith Flint. A true icon in every way. Thank you for the inspiration, music and friendship.”
