Fish Striding Out For Charity

Fish is looking for sponsorship for his imminent charity hike in Scotland

Fish is heading out for a charity walk on Saturday and is looking to raise as much money as possible for two very worthwhile causes.

The walk starts on Saturday 22 May in Milngavey, just North of Glasgow and finishes 7 days and 96 miles later in Fort William in the Highlands.

Fish sent us this email, so have a read and head to the Just Giving links below to donate:

"I am working together with the Another Way Around charity which is organised by Jim and Ian Mitchell to raise funds for Cancer Research and CHAS (Childrens Hospice Association Scotland).

"I met Jim a year or so ago when he asked me to get involved with another charity event and he got back in touch earlier this year with regard to walking the West Highland Way in aid CHAS and Cancer Research.

"Probably like most of you I have known friends and close family who have dealt with cancer and many of whom have passed away. It seems every year more and more people seem to succumb to this disease in some form or another and we still continue to search for more understanding and ultimately a cure for this disease.

"In the last year I had a scare when I was diagnosed with growths on my vocal chords which thankfully were declared benign. That prompted me to examine my own health issues and Jim's offer to join him on the walk coincided with my new attitude to my own fitness and I decided to take up the challenge and at the same time
raise money for two worthy causes.

"The idea expanded and I announced the walk on my web site www.the-company.com asking if any of the fans wanted to join us. So far we have another 20 walkers from all over the UK including a friend from California and two Germans flying in specifically to hike with us over what will be a demanding week for all concerned.

"We are camping every night and walking the 96 miles north over 7 days with support that has been provided or paid for by generous third parties and all walkers are covering their own costs. You can find out more about what we are up to at www.anotherwayaround.com/news.htm where there is a detailed plan of our route and the arrangements.

"What we would sincerely appreciate is if you could make a donation no matter how small to the Just Giving web sites we have set up for CHAS at www.justgiving.com/Jim-Mitchell0 and for Cancer Research at www.justgiving.com/Anotherwayaroundwalkwithfish

"This is a big thanks in advance for any support you can provide us with and we will be posting blogs and putting photos of the trip on the web site once we have completed the epic walk and recovered from blisters, aches, strains and midgie bites so you can see what we raised and who actually survived.”
