Festive Treats On Planet Rock

This weekend we have some tasty on air treats

In case you hadn't noticed there's some sort of annual thing called "Christmas" happening this weekend and as everyone seems to be getting excited about it we thought we'd better offer up some seasonal delights to get into the spirit of things.

On Christmas Eve we'll be starting the party at 2pm with Murray J's Christmas Request show - you pick the songs and Murray will play them. They don't necessarily have to be of a "Christmas" nature, just songs that you want to hear.

Then at 6pm Joe Elliott will be getting festive with a bunch of his favourite seasonal songs.

Alice will be once again doing Christmas in his own inimitable style, playing fantastic rock songs with a seasonal twist and regaling us with his own seasonal stories.

Liz will also get in on the act, ushering in Christmas Day with a special dose of new rock and modern takes on the Xmas rock song from 10pm to midnight on Christmas Eve.

And on Christmas Day itself we'll have the perfect rock soundtrack to your day.

Sam Hughes will be in the studio for more Christmas Requests, so you can soundtrack your own afternoon from 2-5pm (and avoid the Queen's speech).

Francis Rossi returns for a one-off Christmas Special on the big day itself at 5pm, presumably playing Scrooge in his own grumpy Christmas style.

And My Planet Rocks on Sunday at 9pm is with comedian and actor Justin Lee Collins, who will be picking his favourite rock songs of all time.
