Faith No More's Mike Patton Readies Solo Release

Concept album due in November

The NME reports that the album is inspired by physicist Paolo Giordano's 2008 debut novel The Solitude of Prime Numbers.

'Music From The Film and Inspired By the Book The Solitude of Prime Numbers (La Solitudine Dei Numeri Primi)' will be released on 7 November. The 16 track album is said to be 'dramatic and minimalistic' and has been described by Patton as a "sonic departure" from his usual style.

Each song on the album is numbered after the first 16 prime numbers and the album itself will be released as a digipak in the style of a cut out leaf, which will contain an intricate locking mechanism.

Giordano's book sold a million copies in his native Italy and has since been translated into 30 languages. It was turned into a film starring Isabella Rossellini last year.

The 'Music From The Film and Inspired By The Book The Solitude of Prime Numbers (La Solitudine Dei Numeri Primi)' tracklisting is:

  1. 'Twin Primes'
  1. 'Identity Matrix'
  1. 'Method of Infinite Descent'
