Facebook: Bono 'likes' this
An astute bit of business means Bono is about to become the richest rock star on the planet
The U2 singer’s private equity firm, Elevation Partners, owns 1.5% of the shares in Facebook. When the social networking site floats on the stock exchange later in the year it’s estimated that his stake could be worth around £630 million pounds.
On paper it would mean Bono would have around £180 million more in the bank than Sir Paul McCartney meaning he’d leapfrog the former Beatle to top the rich list of rockers.
